Simplicity and taste for a dessert with a sweet-spicy touch. It only takes 20 minutes to bake the Chili Pepper Jam and Meringue Puff Pastry!

Difficulty:   
Cooking Time: 20 minutes.
Servings: 6/8 people.

Ingredients:

  • 2 rolls of puff pastry (round or rectangular as desired)
  • 400g of Calabrian Chili Pepper Jam
  • 80g of powdered sugar
  • 1 egg white
  • Lemon juice to taste.

Procedure:

  • Place the first roll of pastry on the baking tray, keeping it on its own parchment paper.
  • Stuff it with the Calabrian Chili Pepper Jam taking care to leave the edge free.
  • Brush the edge with water and cover the filled pastry with the other roll of pastry, sealing the edges well.
  • Now whip the egg whites together with the powdered sugar and a few drops of lemon until the mixture is firm enough.
  • Cover the pastry with the meringue, spreading it with a spoon or forming peaks with a piping bag.
  • Bake in a preheated static oven at 180° for 20 minutes. Both the meringue and the pastry should be golden.
  • Once baked, wait for the dessert to cool before serving it.
