Cooking Time: 5 minutes.
Portions: 4 people.
Ingredients:
- 1 egg
- 80-90g of 00 flour
- 3-4 tablespoons of Chestnut Honey Natural Calabrian
- Colored sugar sprinkles to taste.
- Oil seeds to taste.
Procedure:
- In a bowl, beat the egg while gradually adding the flour needed. Obtain a soft but firm dough.
- Then knead by hand until a smooth mixture is achieved.
- Divide the dough into small portions to form fairly thick strands.
- Cut the cords into small pieces, making dough chickpeas.
- Bring the oil to a boil and, once it reaches temperature, fry the cicerata for about 5 minutes in batches to avoid the chickpeas from sticking together and risking being undercooked.
- During cooking, the cicerata will tend to swell a lot, increasing its volume. Be sure to stir it often so that it can cook on all sides.
- When it is nicely golden, drain it and place it on kitchen paper.
- Once the cooking of the cicerata is finished, heat in a small saucepan the Chestnut Honey. Next, add the cicerata and mix carefully so that it is evenly coated with honey.
- As per tradition, distribute spoonfuls of batter on previously washed and dried orange leaves. Alternatively, use cupcake liners.
- Finally, decorate by sprinkling the portions with colored sprinkles.
